Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Research, Technology and Development (RTD), the primary job duties of the Research and Technology Administrative Assistant are to perform routine and complex administrative and data support and provide technical assistant to the Director of RTD, who leads the Information Technology, Research and Development, and Lean Six Sigma Divisions. We're seeking an entry-level, enthusiastic individual who is excited about the opportunity to grow their knowledge base and contribute to a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Specific duties of the Research and Technology Administrative Assistant may include, but are not limited to:
- Performing clerical and administrative duties with a high degree of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and other documentation
- Coordinates and manages flows of communication and information
- Coordinates and manage vendors and contracts
- Participates in performance improvement activities to support division goals
- Assists in the development, monitoring and implementation of standards and procedures
- Provide administrative support for the grant process (pre- and post-grant award).
- This includes proposal and budget preparation, procurement, coordinating grant activities, progress reporting and maintaining compliance documentation.
- Collect, review, compile and analyze complex data for grants and projects
- Manage and maintain databases
- Assist with special projects and initiatives as needed
- Performs other related duties as required
Experience and Skills:
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Forensic Science or a related field is required.
- Directly related job experience may be considered as a substitute for college degree.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience in an administrative role is required.
- Demonstrated experience in grant management strongly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret technical data and verbiage is a plus
- Experience in data entry and database management is a plus
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Ability to proactively manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Adept at working in collaborative, team-oriented settings
- Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and methodologies as needed
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and project management skills
- Strong computer skills and a demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products; specifically, advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
